Privacy Policy

TailorClip is a video editing service made by ThapaWeb. This page explains what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how long we keep it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
- Your videos are yours. We process them to make your edits and for nothing else.
- We do not sell your data, ever, to anyone.
- There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics cookies on this site.
- Our website analytics store no IP address and no browser user-agent.
- We never post anything to your social accounts unless you connect them and tell us to.
Your video and audio
When you upload footage, it is stored on hardware we operate so the service can cut, caption and render it. To produce an edit we send parts of it to specialist providers acting on our instructions:
- Audio goes to a speech-to-text provider to produce the transcript your captions and cuts are built from.
- Video frames go to a visual-analysis provider so the editor can tell what is happening on screen.
- The transcript and details about your footage go to a large-language-model provider that decides the edit.
These providers process this material to return a result to us, under contract. We do not authorise them to use your footage to train their models. We identify them by role here rather than by brand; if you need the specific names for your own compliance review, email us at hello@tailorclip.com and we will tell you.
Rendering itself happens on our own hardware. Your finished video is not uploaded anywhere as part of making it.
Your account
If you create an account we store your email address and, optionally, your name. Your password is stored only as a scrypt hash — we cannot read it, and it is never written to a log. Signing in sets one cookie that identifies your session. It is httpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it, and SameSite=Lax, which blocks it being used from another site. It is a strictly necessary cookie; we set no others.
Website analytics
We count visits to tailorclip.com so we know whether anyone is finding it. This is first-party and deliberately thin. We record the page path, the referring website’s domain, any campaign tags in the link, a coarse country, a device category, and a salted hash that groups one person’s visits within a single day and then stops working.
We do not store your IP address and we do not store your browser user-agent. The grouping hash is salted with a secret and rotates daily, so it cannot be reversed into an identity or followed from one day to the next.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist we keep what you typed into that form: your email, your name, the languages you work in, the kinds of video you make, the platforms you post to, how you heard about us, and any note you added. We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address purely to stop the same person or a bot flooding the form. We use this to contact you about access and about TailorClip. There is an unsubscribe in every email.
We send transactional email only — password resets and messages about your access. They go out through an email delivery provider that handles the sending on our behalf. We do not run marketing automation and we do not share your address with advertisers.
Bug reports
The app has a Report button. It is entirely opt-in: nothing is captured unless you press it. When you do, it collects a screenshot of the page, recent console messages and network activity, and details about the job you were working on, so a fault can be reproduced. These reports are written to local storage on the machine running the app. They do not include your passwords, your cookies or your environment settings.
Posting to your social accounts
Publishing is optional and off unless you set it up. If you connect a YouTube channel or a TikTok account, that connection is made through the platform’s own sign-in and gives us permission to upload on your behalf. We store the connection and the access token needed to use it. When you choose to post, we send that platform your video and the caption you wrote — nothing else. You can disconnect an account at any time, from the platform or from us, and we will stop.
Once a video is on YouTube or TikTok, that platform’s own privacy policy governs it, not this one.
How long we keep things
- Finished videos are kept for your most recent work — currently the newest twelve completed jobs. Older ones have their video file removed automatically while a record of the job remains.
- Job records are kept for roughly your last forty jobs, then deleted.
- Uploaded source footage is kept while you may still want to re-edit it, and is deleted on request.
- Account details are kept until you close your account.
- Analytics rows contain no identifier that can be traced to you, so they are kept in aggregate.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including your uploads and your account. Email hello@tailorclip.com and we will action it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing or to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
TailorClip is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and we will tell account holders by email when the change is material rather than editorial.
