Meet Tailor — your AI editor

The AI video editor that learns how you edit.

Upload one vlog or long video. TailorClip returns three finished, ready-to-post edits — a full-length cut, a short, a wildcard — each deliberately different, with real control when you want it. Watch, pick, tweak, post. It gets more you every time.

Long videos welcome — TailorClip edits the full cut and pulls the shorts out of it.

How it works

Three steps. Zero editing skills required.

1.

Upload anything

A 10-minute vlog, a product demo, an hour-long recording. Tailor starts watching the moment the upload begins — transcribing and analyzing in the background while you decide what you want.

2.

One tap — or one sentence

Hit Just Make It and walk away. Or Tailor It: tell Tailor what you want in plain words, and it folds your direction into every cut before anything renders.

3.

Pick from finished edits

A gallery of complete, ready-to-post videos — different hooks, lengths and styles, each tagged with why it was cut that way. Download, tweak in the Studio, or post. Your 👍 and 👎 teach Tailor your taste.

Why TailorClip

Not ten near-identical clips. Three real edits.

Most AI clip generators slice your video into a pile of similar-looking highlights and rank them by a score. TailorClip works like an editor: every upload comes back as three genuinely different edits — each with its own hook, its own length, its own angle. Want a fourth, or another batch of shorts? Ask, and pay only for the extra cuts.

Full-length cut — keeps everything good. Long videos aren't shortened to death; they're tightened.
Shorts, pulled from the long cut — platform-length, hook in the first three seconds.
Speaker switch — when two people talk, the frame follows the conversation.
The wildcard — Tailor's own creative take. Sometimes it's the one you post.
More on demand — want a fourth cut, or another batch of shorts? Ask again — your footage is already analysed, so extra cuts are a few credits, never a fresh upload.

Tailored to you

Captions that keep up when you switch languages mid-sentence.

Most auto-caption tools break the moment you mix languages — they hear the majority language and invent nonsense for the rest. TailorClip understands 90+ languages and detects them phrase by phrase, so a video that flips between English and Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Nepali or Tagalog is captioned correctly across the switch. Non-English speech is shown in readable letters with word-by-word karaoke by default, or in the native script, or translated — your choice, in one tap.

Most tools make you pick a language. TailorClip lets you pick an audience.

Switching between readable letters, native script, and translated is one tap on a finished edit — no re-upload, no re-edit. So the same video can go out to the people who speak your language and the people who don’t, and you only cut it once.

How it compares

TailorClip vs a typical AI clip generator

Where a clip generator returns a pile of similar highlights to sift through, TailorClip behaves like an editor — complete edits that are actually different from each other, real control, and it gets to know you.

Yes, it costs more per minute than a clip generator. Those tools score your transcript once and pour the winners into the same template — which is why ten of them look alike. TailorClip plans each edit against your actual footage, so three uploads of the same length can come back three genuinely different ways. You are paying for the thinking, not the export.

The Studio

Fix it like a doc, not like a timeline.

When a cut is almost right, open it in the Studio. Every AI decision is an editable layer: reword the title, drag it to a new spot, retime it on the timeline, split a clip or delete it. Fix a transcript word and the captions follow. Hover a caption style and it previews with your own words. Add music, a voiceover, your own logo, a color look. Pick who the camera follows, segment by segment. And re-rendering never erases your edits.

From upload to posted

Nothing is lost. Everything is post-ready.

Every project, every version, every variety stays in your history — reopen any of them, re-edit, or regenerate a fresh set from the same footage. And every file that leaves TailorClip is ready to post: 9:16 or 16:9, captions burned in beautifully.

Before you spend a credit

Cut the boring bits first. Pay for what you keep.

Most raw footage opens with a minute of you setting up the shot. The Trim room lets you drop that before anything is charged — upload as much as you like, keep the parts that matter, and only those minutes reach the meter. It is free, it runs on this machine, and nothing is analysed until you say go.

Trimming costs nothing

Upload, scrub, cut, and change your mind as often as you like. The bill is calculated from the seconds you keep — a 40-minute recording trimmed to 6 minutes is charged as 6.

Several clips, one project

Put every angle and every take in together. Trim the ones that need it, leave the rest alone, and send them all to the editor at once — each one stays its own clip, so the AI knows where one ends and the next begins.

Whatever your camera makes

iPhone and Mac (.mov, .m4v), GoPro and drones (.mp4), Android (.3gp), Windows (.wmv, .avi), camcorders (.mts, .m2ts), and the older ones too — .mkv, .webm, .mpg, .flv, .mxf. If it plays, it edits.

You could trim on your phone before uploading, and that works too — we would just rather you did it here, in one place, without exporting twice. Either way the principle is the same: you should not pay to process footage you were never going to use.

Monthly plan credits last 60 days, so a quiet month rolls over into the next one. Top-ups sit underneath and never expire.
Every upload uses at least 6 credits. A two-minute clip takes almost as much thinking as a twenty-minute one — the AI reads your whole footage and plans every cut either way — so the floor is what makes short uploads honest rather than subsidised. Past 6 minutes it is simply 1 credit a minute.
Want more than 3 cuts from one upload? Extra cuts are 2 credits each. Editing the cuts you already have — captions, titles, music, framing, re-rendering — is unlimited and always free.
Re-uploading something you already edited? You pay 40% less, and if you join during beta that 40% is yours for as long as your subscription stays active — it does not drop to the standard 25% when beta ends. We keep the transcript and the scene analysis, so we only charge for the work we actually redo, and the app shows you the exact figure before it charges. This needs the identical file: trim a second off it, add a clip, or re-export it and it is a new video to us, at full price. How the re-upload discount works →
Founding member pricing lasts as long as your subscription stays active — if you cancel, the locked price is released and re-joining means the current price. The same applies to the 40% beta re-upload rate above. A failed card is not a cancellation: we retry, and you keep your rate.
What being in beta actually means

You are early. TailorClip is being built out continuously, and beta users get every new capability the day it ships — and get a real say in which ones come next.

What you are trading for that is polish. You will hit rough edges: something will render oddly, or break. There is a Report button in the app that sends us the screen, the logs and the job — one click, and it is genuinely the fastest way anything gets fixed. Keep your own copy of work you care about.

Beta ends eventually, and prices rise for whoever joins after. If you were here during it and stayed, that rise does not reach you.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is TailorClip?

TailorClip is an AI video editor that turns one raw video into three finished, ready-to-post edits — a full-length cut, a platform-length short, and a creative wildcard — each deliberately different. You pick the winner, tweak it if you want, and post it to TikTok, YouTube, or Reels. Need a fourth? Ask again; your footage is already analysed, so extra cuts are a few credits rather than a fresh upload.

How is TailorClip different from AI clip generators?

Clip generators return many similar highlights of the same video and rank them with a score. TailorClip makes three complete edits that are intentionally different from each other — different hooks, lengths, and framing — and explains why each cut exists. Fewer, but each one is a finished video rather than a slice of one. It also learns your taste from what you keep and change, so results get more personal over time.

Can it edit long videos, or only make shorts?

Both, from the same upload. TailorClip produces a full-length edit that keeps all the good content — great for YouTube, demos, and business video — and automatically pulls the strongest short-form moments out of that longer cut as separate, post-ready shorts.

Do I need editing experience?

No. The default flow is one tap. When you want control, you describe the edit in plain language ("lead with the phone drop, keep it under 30 seconds") or fix things in the Studio by editing the transcript like a text document. There’s no timeline jargon anywhere in the default experience.

What kind of videos does it work best on?

Anything where someone talks to a camera: vlogs, product demos and reviews, tutorials, podcasts, interviews, webinars. Product demos are treated specially — TailorClip keeps every step you show instead of cutting for length. Because Tailor learns from your choices, it adapts to your format rather than forcing one template on everyone.

Can it caption videos that mix languages?

Yes. TailorClip understands 90+ languages and detects them phrase by phrase, so a video that switches between English and Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Nepali or Tagalog is captioned correctly across the switch — where most tools hear the majority language and invent nonsense for the rest. Non-English speech shows in readable letters with word-by-word karaoke by default, or in the native script, or translated to English. It even learns your preferred spelling from your edits.

What can I do in the Studio?

Edit the transcript like a document (fix a word and the captions follow), reword and move titles, cut/split/delete clips on the timeline, restyle captions with a live preview in your own words, add royalty-free music that auto-ducks under your voice, record or upload a voiceover, drop in your own photos or logo, add AI b-roll that is relevance-checked before it is used, apply color looks, and pick who the camera follows per segment. Re-rendering never erases your edits.

Does it add music, b-roll, and my own images?

Yes — all shipped today. There is a built-in royalty-free music and sound-effects library that ducks under speech, a voiceover recorder/uploader, your own photo and logo uploads, and AI b-roll that checks each clip for relevance before it is placed so it never shows something unrelated. Publishing and scheduling straight to platforms is coming soon.

How is it different from Opus Clip, Descript, or CapCut?

TailorClip returns three deliberately different, finished edits (a full cut, a platform-length short, and a wildcard) instead of a pile of similar highlights to sift through; it edits long-form and shorts from one upload; you refine by editing the transcript like a doc rather than nudging sliders; it learns your taste over time; and it captions mixed-language speech that trips up most tools. See the comparison above for a side-by-side.

What formats do the finished videos come in?

Vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts, and horizontal 16:9 for YouTube. Every export ships with your caption style applied — ready to upload as-is.

Why is TailorClip more expensive per minute than Opus Clip or Klap?

Because it does more work per video. Clip generators score your transcript once and pour the highest-scoring moments into the same template — which is why ten clips from one upload look alike, and why they can charge a cent or two a minute. TailorClip plans every edit against your actual footage: it reads what you show as well as what you say, decides what each cut is about, and composes the titles and captions for that specific story. Three uploads of the same length can come back three genuinely different ways. You are paying for the thinking, not the export — and recutting, retiming and restyling what you get back in Studio costs no credits at all.

How many videos do I get from one upload?

Three, and each is a deliberately different edit rather than three versions of the same idea: a full-length cut that keeps the whole story, a platform-length short built around the strongest moment, and a wildcard that takes a creative swing. Want more from the same upload? They are 2 credits each — the footage is already analysed, so extra cuts are cheap and fast. You can also just say how many you want in plain language when you upload: "make me two videos".

Can I cut out the parts I do not want before I am charged?

Yes — that is what the Trim room is for, and it is free. Upload as much footage as you like, scrub through it, drop the setup at the front and the dead air in the middle, and only the seconds you keep are billed. A 40-minute recording trimmed down to 6 minutes is charged as 6 minutes, not 40. You can put several clips in at once, trim the ones that need it, mark the rest as they are, and send them all to the editor together — each stays its own clip so the AI knows where one ends and the next begins. Nothing is analysed and nothing is charged until you say go.

What video formats does TailorClip accept?

Everything a normal camera or phone produces. iPhone and Mac (.mov, .m4v, .mp4), GoPro and drones (.mp4), Android (.3gp, .3g2), Windows (.wmv, .asf, .avi), camcorders shooting AVCHD (.mts, .m2ts, .ts), and older or professional formats including .mkv, .webm, .mpg, .mpeg, .m2v, .vob, .flv, .f4v, .ogv and .mxf. Vertical, horizontal and square all work, and rotation recorded by the camera is handled automatically. You can also add your own photos and a logo for the editor to place on screen.

How does pricing work?

One credit edits one minute of footage you upload, with a minimum of 6 credits an upload — a two-minute clip takes almost as much planning as a twenty-minute one, so the floor keeps short uploads honest instead of subsidised. Early-access plans are $19, $39 and $75 a month for 75, 165 and 330 credits (regularly $29, $63 and $125), and the first 100 people to subscribe keep that price for life. Each upload includes 3 AI cuts — a full cut, a short and a wildcard; extra cuts from the same upload are 2 credits each (1 credit per 6 minutes on longer uploads). Editing the cuts you already have in the Studio — captions, titles, music, framing, re-rendering — is unlimited and always free. Monthly plan credits last 60 days, so an unused month rolls over into the next one. Run out? Top-up credits start at 25 for $9 and never expire at all.
